It has been a beautiful day. The sun has shone brightly and it is warm, at last. Was swatching for a sweater last evening. I am not sure about the yarn. It may be a trifle too heavy for the pattern. I'll just have to work with it and see. Haven't taken any pictures yet. Will try to do that this evening.
The baby sweater is DONE! Well, I have to get the ribbon and lace it through the eyelet, but other than that it is done. I have even sewn on the buttons and tightened up the button holes. I still cannot knit a buttonhole that is not too big. As soon as I get the ribbon I will take a picture and post it. Now on to the next project, which I am not really sure what it is going to be. I am knitting a scarf out of purple worsted and multi color eyelash yarn, but that is not really a project. It is just a filler.
Today I almost got the baby sweater done. I am down to just the button ribbing and the button hole ribbing along both fronts. I would be done but I have frogged it 3 times now. First time I picked up the stitches from the back side and ended up with a ridge down the front of the sweater and had to frog it. Then I didn't put enough stitches on and it puckered and had to frog it. Then I miss counted on the knit/pearl and ended up with more a moss stitch than a ribbing and had to frog it. Hopeflly this time it will be ok. Keep your fingers crossed. The meeting I went to today I wore my green Embossed Leaves socks and the beautiful sweater that I had knit. I was the main attraction. The ladies all want to learn to knit. LOL. I told them I would teach them. What have I gotten myself into? LOL. Gotta run. Have a good rest of the weekend.
It is finally Friday afternoon and I am ready to leave work and go knit. That baby sweater is really calling to me. LOL. With any kind of luck at all I will get it done this weekend, or at least get the knitting part done. I have high hopes anyway. The weather here has been really beautiful today and is supposed to remain so through the weekend. I hope so. Of course that could mean working out doors in the yard instead of sitting and knitting. We will see. I'll try to take some photos this weekend of finished projects and post them on here. Gotta run for now. Have a great weekend!
It is another lovely day. The sun is not shining yet, but it is supposed to. Got all of the components for the baby sweater knit. I've even got them all onto one needle last night to start knitting the yoke. Not sure how much longer it will take to finish. There are about 300 stitches on the needles so it will take me a while to get each row done. I need my girls to pick out sock patterns so that I can get them started. Or maybe I will wait until the first of May and do the new Sockamania Club Knitalong for one of them and then wait until June and do that for the other. That sounds like a good plan. Everyone have a great day and enjoy whatever comes to you. It is now Thursday evening. I had a migraine today so hubby told me to go over to the house and take it easy. I went over and sat down with the baby sweater. I knit for about 2 hours. I got several rows of the yoke done. The first row was 290 stitches but the very next row decreased by about 1/3. I am now "only" knitting 211 stitches per row. After the eyelet row it is a mindless 3/1 ribbing until the decreases start again.
It is a beautiful Tueaday morning. I went to knitting guild last evening and had a very enjoyable evening. The baby sweater is coming along nicely. I was knitting from both ends of the skein and it somehow or other just collasped in upon itself and left me with an awful mess. The yarn was so tangled that it took me nearly 2 hours to get it all straightened out. I always do sleeves at the same time on a circular so that they are identical. I had to slip one sleeve off and put it on a stitch holder so that I could get it all unknotted. I did it, and am now back to knitting on it, or I will be when I go home this evening. My green Koigu socks that I pictured on here I wore yesterday. They felt so nice and comfy. I want to get more Koigu and make more. LOL. Better start working, more this evening, maybe.
It is Saturday morning and it is raining. I have a meeting to go to with my hubby so I can knit almost all day while with him. Still working on the baby sweater. Just realized that after I get the back, both fronts, and the sleeves done, I have to put it all together and knit on the yoke. May take me a little more time than I thought it would. I am not as near to finished as I thought I was. OH, well..... sigh.
Hooray!! It is Friday and my workweek is almost over. I have a meeting to go to with my husband tomorrow but I will be able to knit most of the time since it is really his meeting. There is a yarn store in the town so I may go and see what goodies I can find. Maybe I will get most of the baby sweater done. I have the back, the left front and about 1/3 of the right front done. Maybe, maybe... Just as soon as I can remember to take photos and bring them out here I will post some pictures of past projects. Got to go for now. Have a nice weekend.
Good morning!! It is a lovely day out. Starting raining as I was walking to work. Oh, well. At least it is not snowing this week. Hope to get some knitting done this evening after work. Everyone have a nice day.
